SCHOOLS AT THE MUSEUM PROGRAMME
Aimed at schools of all levels and their teaching staff, the educational programme of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia offers a wide range of activities and in-depth learning opportunities for the 2026-27 school year, to be carried out either in the museum or directly in the classroom, as well as in connection with the principal temporary exhibitions.
Designed and organised across the museums of the MUVE network – the city’s leading museum system, recently expanded to include important new venues in both the lagoon and on the mainland – these numerous educational programmes are led by specialist museum educators. They offer a unique means of exploring and sharing fundamental values and themes, thanks to an approach that brings together different areas of knowledge, methodologies and specific interdisciplinary perspectives, fostering engagement, exchange and discussion.
As in previous editions, the 2026-27 programme is structured around the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, which link cultural and scientific heritage to the challenges of the present, promoting active citizenship, participation, environmental protection and the responsible use of resources.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
SCHOOLS AT THE MUSEUM
Educational activities carried out in the museum with specialised museum educators. They are subdivided into:
- guided tours: activities offered with an interactive approach and educational materials that remain available to pupils and teachers in order to consolidate and build on the museum experience in the classroom;
- workshops: practical experimental activities to be carried out in classrooms or within the museum, designed to introduce participants to techniques, languages or distinctive features of an artistic, scientific or compositional nature that are difficult to convey through theory alone.
These include an introductory visit to the museum or exhibition.
LANGUAGE LEARNING IN A MUSEUM
The museums become tools for learning or improving a foreign Language (FL) by employing the CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning), or by following an active approach to Italian culture and language (L2) for immigrant children. But in our opinion, integration goes beyond “just” the linguistic aspect: for this reason we have long studied, tested and prepared special projects in an intercultural key.
INTERCULTURAL PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS
Activities designed to encourage active engagement with the museum as an educational space, offering opportunities for intercultural encounters and interactions, including an introduction to the Italian language and culture (L2).
FOR TEACHERS
Specific opportunities for in-depth study, including meetings, Edu Days, workshops on particular topics and other opportunities.
INCLUSION & SPECIAL NEEDS
Activities are structured to include all students, but can always be adapted to suit special needs through the availability of specific tools, such as translation
into sign language, tactile and multi-sensory materials and customising itineraries, supports and proposals. Do not hesitate to contact us at education@fmcvenezia so that, together, we can make all that we offer fully inclusive.
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS AND COSTS >>>
Activities can be booked online except for LAST MINUTE requests which must be made, subject to availability, exclusively by telephone or e-mail.
