ALBERTO ZORZI UNIQUE EXAMPLES– JEWELLERY, SILVER 2000-2010
Eighty unique pieces by Alberto Zorzi (Padua, 1958): jewellery-sculptures (gold, silver precious stones, oil paintings, glass), as well as six large pieces of silverware that initially appear to be for decorative purposes only but actually have a function, “turning out to be” vases, fruit bowels or table centre pieces.
All these works were created during the last decade and were especially selected by the artist to interact with the site, space, objects, garments and fabrics in the museum.

Alberto Zorzi

Born in 1958 at Santa Giustina in Colle, Padua.
In 1976 he graduated in “Maestro d’Arte” (Master in the Arts) and in 1978 he received the “Diploma di Maturità d’Arte Applicata” (High School Graduation of Applied Arts) at the Istituto Statale d’Arte Pietro Selvatico, Padua.
In 1983 he graduated in the History of Art at the University of Padua and in 1987 began teaching the Art of Jewellery making and Cutting of Precious and Semi-precious stones at the Istituto Statale d’Arte Pietro Selvatico di Padova.
From 1991 to 1993 he taught Goldsmithery Design at the European Institute of Design, in the jewellery department, in Milan and from 1994 to 2009 he was Professor of Jewellery Design and History of the Artistic Techniques for the degree course in Culture and Fashion Design from 2000 to 2006.
In 1998 he was nominated Professor of Goldsmithery, Fashion Design and Micro-mosaic at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Ravenna.
Since the Eighties his exhibition activity has been extensive and articulated, with many personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad, his artworks may be found in Museums and public collections in Italy, Europe an in the United States.
